Submission Guidelines for Undergraduate Researchers

Author(s) Should Prepare Their Extended Abstract According to The Following Guidelines.

Author(s) should confirm that the extended abstracts is original and has not been previously published or simultaneously under consideration for any other conference or publication. Extended abstracts must be in English (British dictionary for spelling) and in MS Word (Doc/Docx) format.

The extended abstract should contain:

Key Elements

  • Title: A concise and informative title
  • Abstract: Should be within 200 – 250 words
  • Keywords: Provide 3-5 keywords in an alphabetical order
  • Authors are requested to attach completed Author Information Form along with the extended abstract.

  • Introduction and research problem
  • Research Methodology
  • Results
  • Conclusions/Implications/Limitations
  • References (Selected)

Extended Abstract Submission

Authors should prepare the manuscripts according to the formatting specification given below.

Formatting of the Document (Extended Abstract should be within 1500 – 2000 words limit)

Title 14 pt, bold, centre-aligned, capitalise the first letter of each word, and limited to a maximum of ten words

Third level headings 10 pt, italics, left-aligned
Paragraph text 9 pt, 1.5 line spacing, justified

Footnotes and References 9 pt
Reference Style References must follow APA 7th edition, alphabetical order, hanging indent (1 cm)

Tables and Figures

  • Tables and Figures should be placed in the main text where appropriate.
  • Tables labelled above; figures labelled below. Only horizontal lines in tables. Number tables and figures consecutively (Arabic numerals).

Review, Acceptance and Publication

Each extended abstract that is submitted to ICME 2026 Undergraduate session will be reviewed by two anonymous reviewers who demonstrate expert knowledge in the particular fields.

The results of the review process will be notified to authors via email.

Accepted extended abstracts must be presented by the undergraduate at the Undergraduate Research Session of the conference.

At least one author should be duly registered for the Undergraduate Research Session for each accepted extended abstract, and all the registered extended abstracts will be included in the ICME 2026 Abstract Book published by the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka.
